The information contained in the internet is disorderly, and many times it is not written by professionals or experts.that is  why it is important to be sure that what we see is veridical and verifiable.

We must reflect on the following:

  • What benefit, information or utility do we expect from the resources we seek?
  • What are we searching for?
Five traditional ways to know:



Authorship: We're talking about additional information which is added to a web page to identify the person who wrote the article. you can be able to know is that person is really qualified and prepared to trust in his/her opinion.
Accuracy: Quality of being true, correct, or exact. you need to know if the data is comprehensive and make sense.
Objectivity: Researchers should remain distanced from what they study so findings depend on the nature of what was studied rather than on the personality, beliefs and values of the researcher.


Timeliness: It depends if what you are studying need to be current or not. if it is, you have to check when the information was published and created or  if it have more recent editions.

Design: The interface should be attractive and easy to navigate.
Links: If the website is linked with other pages, that are reliable and can help you to find what you are looking for.
